“I love swifts and Northumberland, so I created this composition to celebrate both. I was inspired to create Alpine Swifts on a backdrop of Bamburgh Castle; when researching locations for swifts in Northumberland and noted the Alpine Swifts (slightly larger than our common swifts) had been spotted early in the season near to Bamburgh. This was an unusual event and thought to be a potential result of changing weather patterns or climate change. It is hoped they will become a regular visitor or even breed in the UK in the future” AB

Bamburgh is known for its imposing castle and vast sandy beach. This artwork is ideal for above a mantlepiece or along a wall (opposite to a doorway for example)

There is an individually hand painted decorative acrylic layer depicting the Alpine swifts as they swoop over the bay, giving a striking 3D visual effect, when combined with the background artwork!

The background artwork was created with a digital paintbox then printed individually as a deep canvas print

The background canvas print is produced in the UK Poly-Cotton Canvas stretched onto a bespoke-made sustainable wooden frame, fitted with specialist brackets ready to hang.

Hand Painted Acrylic Layer – hand painted sheet of ultra-clear 3mm thick acrylic. Constructed with stainless steel bolts and spacers fixed at each corner and the centre of the canvas. Painted using water based mixed medium paints
